FALL BRUSH & BRANCH PICK UP - TUES., SEPT. 19 thru TUES., OCTOBER 3, 2017

The Town of Binghamton Highway Department will be picking up brush and tree branches beginning on Tuesday, September 19 and continuing through Tuesday, October 3, 2017.  PICK UPS ARE ON TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS ONLY.  Nothing will be picked up after October 3.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:

WE WILL BE CHIPPING THE BRANCHES WITH THE CHIPPER, SO THE FOLLOWING RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED:

  1. Call the Highway Dept. at 669-4323 to be placed on a list for this service.
  2. We will take tree branches from your yard only.  (Absolutely no cuttings from bushes.)
  3. Branches must be at least 3" in diameter.
  4. Please place branches neatly along the curb/roadside in front of your home.
  5. Please place the large end of the branch towards the road, and leave the branches as long as possible.
  6. No brush from clearing your lot.
  7. No brush from contractors or landscapers.
  8. Large piles MUST be approved.
The following items WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED and will be left behind: tree trunks; roots of any sort; clippings from lawns, flower beds, or vegetable gardens; thorny brush and small twigs; no leaves and no animal waste.  Your local garbage hauler can assist you with disposal of these items.

PLEASE NOTE:   In the past, the Highway Dept. has encountered large piles of brush and very old dead tree branches that have been gathered from residents' wooded lots.  This is NOT what is intended for this pick up.  We want to help you clear your YARD of unwanted limbs that have fallen during the summer, but we do not have the manpower to take all of your unwanted branches from your wooded areas.  Please place only those branches that have fallen around your home.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
