Remembering When . . .

Read all about it . . .

This year's annual “Remembering When” luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Binghamton Township Historical Society musuem, housed in the old Hawleyton Methodist Church at 923 Hawleyton Road, Binghamton, NY 13903.  This is a wonderful time for members and visitors alike to gather in the Fellowship Hall to catch up on the year’s progress – and with each other – and to tour the museum and see what’s new, relive old memories, and celebrate with some good old-fashioned township camaraderie.

Our museum houses an eclectic assortment of artifacts pertaining to the Township, including artifacts and histories from all phases of earlier life in our town. It features displays and memorabilia that include an old telephone system, information and relics from 20 local one-room schoolhouses, farm tools, and much more. We are also collecting and archiving oral histories, papers, and books, which are being digitized and will soon be available online for residents, researchers, and history buffs alike.

The public is welcome and encouraged to come out for this annual event!  The museum will open at 11 a.m., and we'll plan to eat at NOON.  Please bring a dish to pass (and the recipe to share, if interested).  A $2 donation is suggested.  We look forward to seeing you then!
