Station One to Host an Open House

Have you always wanted to be a firefighter? Saturday, April 28, 2018, has been designated as “Recruitment Day 2018” throughout New York State, and the Town of Binghamton Volunteer Fire Company will be holding an Open House in commemoration!  Stop in to speak with one of their firefighters. See what they have to offer, fill out an application, and you’re on your way!

The event will be held at Station One, located at 967 Hawleyton Road from NOON until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018.  Visit the station and meet the new Chief Jerry Emmons, as well as the firefighters.  It’s an Open House so you can tour the station and inspect their new engine and other apparatus.

The Red Cross will be at this important event, and they are offering free installation of up to three (3) smoke alarms (per household) for any residence located in the counties of Broome and Tioga.  All you need to do is stop by and complete an application.  Tell your friends, your neighbors, and relatives the news about the free installation of up to three (3) smoke alarms through the Red Cross.

HOME DEPOT & LOWES TO DONATE FREE CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS (first come/first served - Town of Binghamton residents only)
The Fire Company will be giving away over 100 carbon monoxide detectors to honor the life of Lee Norris, a lifelong Town of Binghamton resident who passed away in January of carbon monoxide poisoning at the age of 30.  (Carbon monoxide detectors will be given away to Town of Binghamton residents only.)

Please come out on Saturday, April 28, 2018, to support your local Fire Company!  Thank you!
